JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Bellarmine University junior Brynn Severance was recognized as the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

A defensive midfielder, Severance shined in a pair of shutouts as Bellarmine played to a scoreless draw with West Florida before blanking Queens 2-0.

In the latter, Severance had a hand in both goals. The native of Strongsville, Ohio, assisted on sophomore forward Katie Paulakonis' game-winner before finding the net to provide the Knights some insurance on their way to securing their third straight ASUN Tournament berth.

Severance helped the defense allow a combined nine shots over two games. West Florida produced only five attempts while Queens generated just four chances.

Severance played the full contest in both outings.
