LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine women's tennis team continues its lengthy road swing with another three-match weekend, taking on Indiana and Notre Dame.
Bellarmine will first face off against Indiana on Friday, February 13 at 4 pm E.T. before playing a doubleheader at Notre Dame on Sunday, February 15 with the first match beginning at 11 am E.T.
Last weekend, Bellarmine (6-8) dropped a tight battle at Bowling Green, 4-3, before falling to Louisiana Tech and Mississippi State 4-0 in back-to-back matches at MSU's A.J. Pitts Tennis Complex.
Indiana is off to a 6-0 start to its season and is coming off a 4-1 win over Virginia Tech last Sunday. Tomorrow's match will be the Hoosiers' seventh consecutive dual at home in the IU Tennis Center. Indiana will play its first road match of the year on Sunday, February 15 when it travels to play at Louisville. Bellarmine and Indiana have met three times since the Knights joined the Division I level. IU owns a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series. The Knights had their best result against the Hoosiers in their last match however, losing 5-2 on January 15, 2024 after failing to score a point in the first two meetings.
Notre Dame is off to an 8-1 start its season and is coming off back-to-back 7-0 wins over Purdue and UIC. Outside of two matches played in Ann Arbor, MI for the ITA Kickoff Weekend (where they suffered their only loss of the season, 4-0 to Vanderbilt), the Fighting Irish have played the rest of its dual schedule at home in the Eck Tennis Pavillion and Courtney Tennis Center. Notre Dame will play its first true road match on Friday at Louisville before returning home for the doubleheader against the Knights on Sunday. Bellarmine and Notre Dame met for the first time last season when the Fighting Irish hosted the Knights for a doubleheader on February 9, 2025. In the first meeting, Notre Dame won both matches, 7-0 and 6-0, respectively.
