Smith scores 15, Chiquemba adds 13 in Knights' loss at Austin Peay

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Down to three scholarship players and five January walk-ons, the injury-plagued Bellarmine University women's basketball team was defeated 82-41 by Austin Peay on Saturday in Atlantic Sun Conference play at F&M Bank Arena.

Sophomore guard Ava Smith tallied 15 points and redshirt junior forward Andrea Chiquemba notched 13 points for Bellarmine (2-27, 0-16 ASUN), while freshman guard and walk-on Carly Bryant added seven points.

Smith scored in double figures for the fifth consecutive game and eighth time in the last 10 contests. Chiquemba cracked double digits for the third time in the last four games.

Ines Gnahore and Mya Williams combined for 43 points for Austin Peay (15-11, 7-9), which sank 11 3-pointers. Gnahore hit 10-of-14 shots in scoring 23 points while Williams canned seven of her 12 attempts in registering 20 points. The pair combined to sink seven shots from long range.

Bellarmine will play at 7 p.m. ET (6 CT) Wednesday at Lipscomb.
