LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University track and field set four new program records on the opening day of the ASUN Indoor Championships at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.

The majority of Friday's action at the conference meet consisted of prelims. The meet will conclude Saturday.

Senior Zac Hutslar set a pair of new men's program records. He earned two points in the finals of the long jump after placing seventh, with his 6.99m leap eclipsing the previous program record of 6.98m shared by Ben Kolb (2011 Mastadon Opener) and Shomari Rogers-Walton (2021 ASUN Championship).

In addition, Hutslar bested his own program record of 21.83 in the 200m from this season's Eastern Indoors after posting a 21.74 while placing fifth in the prelims.

Senior Zander Hooten also topped his own program record of 7.96 in the 60m hurdles set at this year's PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic by recording a 7.93 while placing second in the prelims.

Senior Alex Hooten delivered a 1:51.55 while placing fourth in the 800m prelims. That performance edged past Jackson Gordon's 1:51.65 from the 2024 Music City Challenge in establishing a new program record. Hooten also sealed a trip to the finals in the mile after placing third in the prelims in 4:05.64.

Bellarmine had three men book trips to the finals in the 60m hurdles. In addition to Hooten, junior Carter Olmsted placed seventh (8.20) in the prelims and freshman Taevion Sweeney took eighth (8.37).

Sophomore Grant King will join Hutslar in the 200m finals after placing sixth (21.75) in the prelims. King will also accompany senior Jackson Gordon in the 400m finals. Gordon placed fourth (48.41) in the prelims and King was seventh (49.38).

Freshman Caysie Brady earned three points in the women's weight throw after placing sixth (16.60m).

Freshman Landen Fernandez, Olmsted, freshman Buzz Christensen and freshman Jack Moutardier collected three points after placing sixth in the men's distance medley relay (10:5.18).

Sophomore Ginger Atzinger, junior Annie Somwe, junior Aubrey Lane and senior Sierra Oesterling secured two points after finishing seventh in the women's distance medley relay (12:38.01).
