SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – The Bellarmine women's golf team returned to action after their winter hiatus to take on Morehead State in a match play event this past Sunday and Monday.
Morehead State won 10 of the 12 matches over two rounds against the Knights at the Spring Kick-Off, played at Longleaf Golf & Family Club. It was Bellarmine's first match play event since the Battle at Boone in Florence, Ky., in March 2021.
Abigayle Buchanan and
Rozlyn Rooke earned wins in the second round on Monday. Buchanan was aided by an eagle on the par-4 18th hole, the only eagle of the event.
Rooke,
Raquelle Nelson and
Piper Davis tied for the team lead with three birdies apiece. All three of Rooke's birdies came on Monday to help her to a match win.
