LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine men's tennis fell 5-2 to Xavier University on Saturday at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
The Musketeers claimed the doubles point with wins on courts one and three, taking an early 1-0 advantage.
In singles play, the Knights responded with strong performances from Eli Wood and Ryan Parkins. Wood earned a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-3), while Parkins battled back to win in three sets at the No. 3 spot (3-6, 6-4, 6-3).
Matthew Nice pushed a competitive three-set match at No. 1 singles after taking the opening set in a tiebreak, but Xavier ultimately secured the remaining courts to clinch the match.
Up Next: Bellarmine travels to face Eastern Kentucky University on Wednesday before returning home for Senior Day on Friday against Lipscomb University at 2:30 p.m. ET.
