KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Bellarmine University track and field established a pair of new program records as the Knights competed Friday and Saturday in the University of Tennessee's Tennessee Invite.
Taevion Sweeney set new men's overall and freshman program records in the 400m hurdles after placing eighth while posting a 53.67, which bested
Zander Hooten's overall mark of 53.85 from the 2024 Clark Wood Invitational and Sweeney's own 53.95 freshman mark from the Ole Miss Classic.
Dylan Forster secured a new freshman program record in the shot put after placing sixth with a 16.39m toss, which topped
Will Bracher's 16.14m from the 2025 UAB Spring Invite.
Freshman
Jared Fairbanks placed third in the 5000m (14:50.08) while senior
Alex Hooten took fifth in the 800m (1:50.61), with freshman
Jack Moutardier also finishing in the top half in 18th (1:54.16). Junior
Chase Austin (ninth, 3:53.83) and sophomore
Salah Farah (13th, 3:55.50) both placed in the upper half of the 1500m, as did sophomore
Grant King in the 200m (22nd, 21.49), junior
Enrico Busato in the shot put (11th, 15.52m) and Bracher in the hammer throw (14th, 45.37m).
Freshman
Caysie Brady placed fifth in the women's discus (43.52m) and eighth in the hammer throw (49.75m) while junior
Amelia Svidal finished fifth in the triple jump (12.14m) and 15th in the long jump (5.54m). Senior
Sierra Oesterling placed in the top half of the 1500m in 24th (4:47.93).
Bellarmine will compete Thursday and Friday in the Wake Forest Invitational.
