WINSTON-SALEM, NC — Men's senior
Alex Hooten and women's freshman
Caysie Brady established new program records as Bellarmine University track and field competed Thursday and Friday in the Wake Forest Invitational.
Hooten set a new program record in the 1500m after placing seventh in Open 8 in 3:45.99, which broke
Nolan Hester's mark of 3:48.18 from the 2025 Bryan Clay Invitational.
Brady bested her previous overall and freshman program records in the discus, placing fifth with a 47.60m toss that bested her 46.60 from the Ole Miss Classic. She also finished ninth in the hammer throw (50.04m).
Junior
Amelia Svidal took top honors in the women's triple jump (12.14m) while junior
Aubrey Lane placed fourth in both the 400m (56.28) and 800m Open 4 (2:12.69).
Senior
Zac Hutslar was the runner-up in the men's long jump (6.91m) while senior
Zander Hooten was third in the 110m hurdles (14.46) and freshman
Taevion Sweeney was third in the 400m hurdles (54.88). Sophomore
Grant King placed fifth in the 200m (21.50) and Hutslar was seventh (21.65). King was also sixth in the 100m (10.68).
Freshman
Dylan Forster took fifth (16.03m), junior
Enrico Busato was sixth (15.36m) and sophomore
Will Bracher was ninth (14.66m) in the shot put. Senior
Alex Cole finished eighth in the discus (45.86m) and Busato was 10th (43.73m).
Additional top 10s included junior
Chase Austin in the 1500m Open 3 (sixth, 3:49.98) and sophomore
Salah Farah in the 5000m Open (eighth, 14:29.64).
Bellarmine will compete Thursday-Saturday in the University of Louisville's Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational.
