LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University track and field set three new program records as the Knights competed Thursday-Saturday in the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational hosted by the University of Louisville.
Senior
Zander Hooten chased down a longstanding men's program record that he's been pursuing throughout his career, as his 14.26 in the 110m hurdles bested Seth Sigler's 14.28 from the 2014 GLVC Championships. Hooten placed third in the event.
Junior
Amelia Svidal tied an enduring women's program record with a 5.84m leap in the long jump. Svidal, who finished eighth, matched Denasha Mondy's mark from the 2008 Stan Lyons Invitational.
Dylan Forster established a new men's freshman program record in the shot put, as his 16.96m heave topped his previous record of 16.39m at the Tennessee Invite.
Bellarmine had a pair of top 10s in the men's shot put, as junior
Enrico Busato placed ninth (15.32m). Freshman
Caysie Brady took eighth in the women's discus (46.15m) and 10th in the hammer throw (47.99m). Senior
Zac Hutslar was ninth in the men's long jump (6.95m).
Rounding out the top 15s were junior
Carter Olmsted in the men's 110m hurdles (11th, 14.65), senior
Alex Cole in the men's discus (12th, 45.05m), junior
Aubrey Lane in the women's javelin (12th, 30.56m), junior
Will Bracher in the men's hammer throw (13th, 48.25m), freshman
Tola Taiwo in the men's triple jump (13th, 13.58m) and sophomore
James Noble in the men's 400m hurdles (14th, 55.59).
Bellarmine will compete Friday-Saturday in the Jim Green Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky.
