LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University lacrosse's
Michael Blaymires has been selected to play for England in the 2026 European Box Lacrosse Championship in Prague, Czechia.
Blaymires will compete in the June 25-July 4 tournament after recently wrapping up his career with Bellarmine. The native of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, appeared in 54 games with the Knights while compiling 47 goals and 11 assists.
As a senior, Blaymires earned second-team All-ASUN accolades. The 6-foot, 185-pound midfielder amassed 18 goals and three assists while 32 of his 40 shots were on frame for an .800 shot-on-goal percentage. He posted a pair of hat tricks, scoring three goals apiece against Marquette and Air Force.
Blaymires is one of 23 players on England's squad, which will be coached by Walt Christianson. The team is the reigning champion.
