JACKSONVILLE, Fl. — Bellarmine University's Mady Yaden was named the ASUN Freshman of the Week for volleyball, the league announced Monday.

An outside hitter and middle blocker, Yaden has burst onto the scene in her first collegiate season. In just two matches on the week, she turned in 31 kills, good for 4.43 per set, while adding five blocks and four digs. Playing a home and home series with Butler, Yaden led the match in kills in both meetings, collecting 13 kills with three blocks and three digs in match one. In the second meeting, she turned it up a notch and recorded 18 kills while hitting .469 (18-3-32) to lead the Knights to a 3-0 sweep, adding two blocks and a dig. She currently ranks third in the ASUN in kills per set (3.35) and fourth in total kills (104).

The award is Yaden's first of her career. She is the second Knight to garner ASUN Freshman of the Week honors, joining Maddie Carnes (8/31).
