LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Bellarmine's Ross Hopkins caught up to a rebounded shot and rifled his own shot into the right corner of the goal with just 17 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to lift his Knights over the Lewis Flyers 2-1 in a Great Lakes Valley Conference soccer game today.

The heroics by Hopkins capped a thrilling comeback, in which Bellarmine tied the score at one in the game's 85th minute on an Ian Porta goal and Knights' keeper Zane Reifsteck prolonged the game by coming up with a couple of big saves.

Despite controlling the ball most of the afternoon, Bellarmine found itself behind on the scoreboard, as Lewis' Nestor Hernandez found the corner of the goal in the 71st minute.

For the game, the Knights held a 21-12 advantage in shots and a 13-4 edge in corner kicks.  They improve to 6-2-1 (4-2 GLVC).  The Flyers fall to 5-3-1 (4-3).

Up next for Bellarmine is a road trip to face GLVC newcomer the University of Illinois-Springfield on Friday followed by a Sunday match up against Drury.
