KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Bellarmine University Knights volleyball squad defeated the Hawks of Rockhurst University 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-17) at the Mason Halpin Field House Saturday night.
With the win, the Knights are now 8-6 (4-6 GLVC), while the Hawks fell to 7-10 overall (4-6 GLVC).
The Knights easily downed the Hawks in the first set, but had to battle back from 24-all to narrowly defeat the Hawks in the second set. The final set gave Bellarmine their biggest game of the match as a balanced attack help them defeat the Hawks.

Paula Byrns paced the Knights' offense with 13 kills, followed closely by sophomore
Krista Gibson who had 10. Sophomore setter
Bailey BredenbeckCorp recorded 37 assists in the win, while libero
Jaclyn Ohlmann led the Knights' defense with 13 digs.
The Knights will finish out the weekend at Liberty, Mo., on Sunday as they face the Cardinals of William Jewell College at 1:00 PM.
