ROMEOVILLE, Ill.--The Bellarmine University volleyball team fell in straight sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-18) to the No. 22 Lewis Flyers tonight in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Neil Carey Arena.
The Knights fell victim to a hot-hitting Flyer offense that recorded 36 kills on 75 total attacks for a hitting percentage of .373. Meanwhile Bellarmine hit less than .100 for the match while making 19 attack errors and tallying just 27 kills for the match.
Bellarmine also suffered through a tough service match, with just one ace and 13 service errors.
The Flyers' Jen Krumwiede led all hitters with 13 kills on the night, while Bellarmine's
Krista Gibson led the Knights with eight. Other statistical leaders for the Knights were
Bailey BredenbeckCorp with 21 assists and
Kaitlin Young with eight digs.
The Knights fall to 6-4 on the season with a 2-4 league mark. Lewis improves to 7-4, 3-3.
Bellarmine is back in action tomorrow at Wisconsin-Parkside.
