SOMERS, Wisc.--The Bellarmine University women's volleyball team ran into a hot Wisconsin-Parkside team, falling in straight sets (25-18, 25-23, 27-25) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at DeSimone Gymnasium this afternoon.
After an emotional upset of the 12-ranked Northern Kentucky Norse last night, the Rangers' emotions were still high as the home squad overcame the Knights, who got a career-tying high of 13 kills from junior
Paula Byrns.
Bellarmine also got a career high from
Jaclyn Ohlmann, who recorded 19 digs on the afternoon, and setter
Bailey BredenbeckCorp continued her steady play with 33 assists to lead all players in that category.
The Rangers were led by Bridget Nickel, who hit .355 in tying Byrns for game high honors with 13 kills.
The Knights' record now stands at one game over .500 at 6-5 with a league mark of 2-5. Wisconsin-Parkside draws even at 6-6 and climbed to 5-2 in GLVC play.
Bellarmine returns to action one week from today with a home match against Missouri S&T. Start time is slated for 1 p.m.
