SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--The Bellarmine University men's soccer team fell 1-0 this afternoon at Drury University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game.
Although the Knights equalled the Panthers in shots with seven and held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks, Bellarmine could not get the ball past Drury goalie Stephen Conner and dropped its second straight game by way of the shutout. After scoring 25 goals in their first six games, the Knights went scoreless on their 2-game road swing to Missouri S&T and Drury.
Today's lone goal came 13:16 into the contest when Drury's Matt Hutchison got a 10-yard shot past Bellarmine keeper
Blake Hunter.
The loss drops Bellarmine to 4-4 on the season with a 3-3 record in GLVC play. Drury improved to 6-3, 4-2 GLVC.
Bellarmine returns to action at home on Friday evening when they face Lewis in a game scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
