Knights look to get back on track against Lewis, Wisc.-Parkside

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Looking to climb back in to the Great Lakes Valley Conference race, the Bellarmine University men's soccer team will play host to Lewis University and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside this weekend at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.

Being shut out the past two games, Bellarmine(4-4, 3-3 GLVC) still ranks second in the conference in goals scored at 3.0 per game. Freshman Jacob Kaye continues to lead the team with four goals and four assists on the season.

Lewis rolls into town with a 3-5, 3-3 GLVC record, losing to Missouri-St. Louis last time out. The Flyers are led by Cristhian Ramirez who had has four goal and three assists on the season. Last season, Ramirez scored an early goal in the 9th minute to lead the Lewis victory over Bellarmine 2-1.

Wisconsin-Parkside (5-2-1, 3-2-1 GLVC) fields one of the conference's toughest defenses, giving up a meager 0.61 goals per game, second in the conference. Sophomore Ron Gourlay leads the team with five goals while Spencer Bursten has three goals and five assists. Bellarmine has taken two of three matches from Parkside in the past two seasons with both wins by the score of 4-0.

Friday's match between the Knights and Lewis has a 6:30 PM scheduled start with Sunday's match at 2:30 PM.
