MEMPHIS, Tenn.--The Bellarmine University volleyball team completed a perfect 4-0 record in the Christian Brothers Fall Classic with a pair of victories on Saturday. The Knights bested West Georgia 3-1 in the morning before coming back in the afternoon to defeat Arkansas-Monticello in straight sets 25-15, 25-23, 25-20.
In Saturday's second match, Bellarmine was led offensively by
Krista Gibson's 11 kills.
Paula Byrns also reached double digits in kills with 10 while hitting at an impressive .500 clip.
Bailey BredenbeckCorp assisted on 34 kills, and the sophomore setter also had a strong serving match with five aces.
Defensively against UAM,
Kaitlin Young posted 14 digs, and BredenbeckCorp led the Knights with three blocks.
No statistics were available for the West Georgia match.
Bellarmine will put its undefeated record on the line Friday night as the Knights have their home and conference opener at 7 p.m. against Indianapolis.
