LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Bellarmine University men's soccer team will welcome in the eighth-ranked Drury Panthers on Friday night in the first leg of an important weekend of Great Lakes Valley Conference play that will also feature a Sunday match against Missouri S&T.

Bellarmine (6-2-1, 5-2-1 GLVC) currently sits in third place in the GLVC and sixth in the Midwest Region. A victory over the Panthers would boost the Knights chances of moving into the top four in the region, a spot that would earn them an invite into the NCAA Tournament.

Senior Robert Bowling has been the catalyst for the Knights in their five game unbeaten streak, scoring four of his six goals on the season.  In that five game span, BU has outscored their opponents by a combined 7-1 margin.

All six of Bellarmine's wins this season have been in shutout form with sophomore Blake Hunter picking up complete game wins in four of them. The Novi, Mich. native ranks fourth in the league with a 0.66 goals against average.

The backline in front of Hunter has been one of the toughest in the GLVC through nine games, helping Bellarmine to an 182-65 advantage in shots, a per game stat of 20.2 to just 7.2 for their opponents.

Drury (8-1-1, 6-1-1 GLVC) comes into the weekend leading the GLVC in both goals per game (3.40) and goals against average (0.48). The Panthers feature freshman star Shane Woods, who has burst onto the scene with 8 goals and 4 assists in 2012. Last weekend, Woods sent the Panthers to a 2-1 2OT victory over Missouri-St. Louis, converting a penalty kick in 106th minute.

On Sunday, Bellarmine will welcome in Missouri S&T to Owsley B. Frazier Stadium. The Miners sport a 5-4-1, 4-4 record and are fresh off a 2-0 victory over Maryville. In 2011, Bellarmine outshot S&T and held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks, but was unable to pull out the win, falling 2-0.

Kickoff between Drury and Bellarmine is set for approximately 6:30 on Friday night at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.
