Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky.—In a battle of "BU"s, the Bellarmine Knights field hockey team fell to the Bloomsburg Huskies 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in a matchup of NCAA Division II teams.

The visiting Huskies got on the board just 5:22 into the affair when Brittany Mathews slapped a shot from just inside right side of the arc that sailed past Bellarmine goalkeeper Alex Moro and into the cage.  Bloomsburg kept up the pressure on the Knights in the first half, outshooting the hosts 9-3 in the opening period.

Bloomsburg went into the break with a 2-0 lead as Felicia Domenici converted a shot from close range for her first of three goals on the game.

In the second period, the Knights were more aggressive and outshot the Huskies 6-3 while owning a 6-1 advantage in penalty corners for the half. However, Huskie goalkeeper Emiley Maiorana was up to the challenge to keep the Knights off the scoreboard.

For the game, Bloomsburg outshot the Knights 12-9, but the home squad totaled seven penalty corners to just four for the Huskies.  Moro and Megan Martiny teamed to record six saves on the day, while Maiorana made four for the visitors.

Bloomsburg earns its first victory on the young season to move to 1-2, while the Knights fall to 1-3 on the year.

The Knights return to action in one week when they host Seton Hill University in a Saturday game set to start at noon.
