LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Bellarmine University men's soccer team will face the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Ky. on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in their final non conference matchup of the season.
The Knights are 2-1 (1-1 GLVC) on the season, having tallied eight goals and allowing just three. Bellarmine dropped their last game 3-2 on the road at the University of Illinois Springfield on Sunday, but hopes to rebound against their in-state foe.
Bellarmine senior defender Matt Odem has been red hot this season. The St. Louis, Mo. native has recorded an impressive four goals on eight shots in his two games played this season. His four early season goals equal his total goals for his previous three seasons in Louisville combined. He is currently first in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in goals per game, and is tied for first in overall goals.
Kentucky Wesleyan enters Tuesday's battle holding a 1-2-1 (0-0 GMAC) record, winning their last contest 5-4 in overtime against Southwest Baptist on Sunday.
Bellarmine crushed the Panthers last year 5-0 on BU's senior night. Junior
Dan Schiavi led the Knights with two goals and an assist, all within the first 10 minutes of action.
