LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Coming off their only back-to-back home games of the season, Bellarmine's field hockey team once again hits the road for a pair of contests this weekend, traveling to Pennsylvania to take on Bloomsburg on Saturday and the No. 1-ranked Millersville Marauders on Sunday.

On a three-game win streak after a neutral site victory and a pair of home wins this weekend, the Knights are 6-4 heading into weekend play. Saturday's opponent, Bloomsburg, ranked in the nation's top 10 earlier in the season, but the Huskies have fallen to a 3-7 record while playing a torturous schedule with five of the seven losses came at the hands of teams currently ranked in the top seven in the country.
Bellarmine will face its toughest test of the year on Sunday when they visit the top-ranked Marauders, who reeled off nine straight victories before dropping a 2-1 decision to No. 3 Shippensburg on Tuesday. To illustrate how dominant Millersburg has been, one simply needs to look at the season statistics which show the Marauders outscoring their opponents 37-6 on the year. Six times Millersville has held their opponent scoreless as starting goalie Lauren Sotzin boasts a miniscule goals against average of 0.59. Offensively, Katelyn Zapp is the leader with eight goals and two assists, but the Marauders have a deep bench with 16 different players contributing with a goal or an assist this season.
The Knights counter with a deep bench of their own which features 14 different players scoring at least one point this season. Sophomore
Kelsey O'Bryan has emerged as the offensive leader for Bellarmine. Her nine goals and six assists lead the team in both categories and rank her No. 8 in the country in points per game. Her 0.6 assists per game average ranks seventh in the country. Fellow sophomore
Kathryn Schneidtmiller also ranks in the nation's top 25 for points per game—averaging 1.7 points with six goals and five assists in 10 games played.
Defensively, Bellarmine is led by
Hannah Doll and goalkeeper
Lara Williams. Doll is eighth in the country for defensive saves with four while Williams ranks No. 9 in the nation for saving 77 percent of the on-target shots she has faced this season.
