Box Score ST. CHARLES, Mo.—The Bellarmine University field hockey team raced out to 4-1 lead and hung on for a 4-3 victory over Seton Hill today in a neutral site game played at Lindenwood University's Hunter Stadium.
The Knights got a pair of goals from
Kelsey O'Bryan with
Alex Ojeda and
Alexis Van Wallaghen also finding the cage for Bellarmine.
Ojeda struck first for the Knights, tallying her fourth goal of the season 12:49 into the game. O'Bryan made it 2-0 just four minutes later, and the teams remained scoreless for the balance of the first period.
Seton Hill cut the Bellarmine lead in half on a goal by Dominique Cappello after 7:38 had elapsed in the second period. Van Wallaghen and O'Bryan then answered with goals just three and a half minutes apart to put the Knights up by three.
The Griffins came back, scoring twice in the final seven minutes to close the gap to 4-3.
Bellarmine improves to 4-4 on the season while Seton Hill remains winless at 0-6.
The Knights return to action on Saturday when they'll play just their second home game of the season, hosting the Newberry Wolves in an ECAC contest at noon in Frazier Stadium.
