Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. — Saturday's final score was exactly the same as in the Bellarmine University field hockey team's Friday opener, only this time the Knights were on the favorable end of it.

Playing for the second time in two days on a trip to Massachusetts, Bellarmine once again utilized shrewd defense, but this time the Knights squeaked out just enough goals to prevail 2-1 over Assumption at Multi-Sport Stadium.

Sophomore midfielder Aimee Ilgenfritz scored the winning goal in the 59th minute for Bellarmine (1-1), which rebounded from a 2-1 overtime loss the previous day to American International. Ilegenfritz and senior forward/midfielder Alex Ojeda, who opened the scoring in the 24th minute, helped the Knights flip the script on Saturday.

One thing that didn't change was the play of BU senior goalie Lara Williams, who corralled 10 saves while allowing a single goal by Assumption's Taylor Chase in the 31st minute. It was the second-straight double-digit save effort by Williams after the University of Louisville transfer piled up 17 against American International, tying her for the fifth-best single-game total in Knights history.

Bellarmine's defense held Assumption (0-1) scoreless in the second half despite 17 shots by the Greyhounds, who owned the overall shot advantage 25-15. The Knights fired off one more shot in the first half (9-8) than Assumption before the Hounds took 11 more than BU after the break.

After Bellarmine freshman midfielder Elle Lichte assisted on Ojeda's opening goal, Assumption knotted it at 1-1 before halftime when Paige Anderson spotted Chase for the tying goal. The score remained that way for much of the second half before BU junior forward Alexis Van Wallaghen found Ilegenfritz for the winning goal.

Bellarmine will play its third game in three days when the Knights meet Slippery Rock at noon (ET) Sunday at American International.
