LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Sophomore Andrew Jones won his singles match as the Bellarmine University men's tennis team was defeated 1-8 by Southern Indiana on Saturday in Great Lakes Valley Conference play at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.

In a hard-fought match, Jones outlasted Kooper Falkenstein 6-4, 3-6, 11-9 at No. 6 singles for the Knights (2-12, 0-2 GLVC). Southern Indiana (6-10, 2-0) won the other five singles matches and swept doubles play.

"We are showing improvement in every match," Knights Coach Tyler Worley said. "The support for Andrew on his win shows me that my guys are starting to support each other and grow."

Bellarmine hosts Lewis next Saturday.
