GREENVILLE, Tenn. — The Bellarmine University tennis teams faced stiff challenges Sunday as they visited Tusculum and both fell 0-9.
The loss is the Knights' women's first of the season and snaps a 10-match win streak. Tusculum (6-0) is ranked 21st nationally on the women's side.
"I was so proud of the fight my team put up today," Coach
John Mican said. "We started out slow but as the match went on we improved. This was a great trip for us to get used to the outdoors and play top competition. The best thing about the trip is that the players are all super-motivated to work hard and start a new win streak. As far as we are concerned, our season starts now."
On the men's side, Bellarmine dropped to 2-6 while Tusculum improved to 5-1.
"I'm really happy with how hard the team competed against a top-caliber squad," Coach
Tyler Worley said. "There is a lot we can build on."
