LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With COVID-19 putting fall sports on the shelf this season, the Bellarmine Athletics Communication staff is using part of this time to shine the spotlight on some of the top student-athletes of the past 10 years by naming the Bellarmine All-Decade teams. The teams recognize student-athletes who competed for the Knights at least two seasons from the 2010-11 school year to the 2019-20 year.

Today, we name the Bellarmine All-Decade Team for Wrestling, which consists of five wrestlers. The wrestling program at Bellarmine was launched mid-decade and is only 4-years-old.

Eric Beck (2017-present)
Beck earned honorable-mention All-GLVC laurels as a sophomore at 165. The Cincinnati native ranks second in program history in career wins (71) and falls (26) and is third in winning percentage (.623).

Last season, Beck finished 10th nationally in falls. His tally of 14 ranks third in a single season in program history, as does his 30 victories as a sophomore. Beck is the program leader in career wins and falls at both 157 and 165. He's the single-season leader in wins and falls at 165.

Gage Branson (2017-20)
Branson earned two All-GLVC accolades in his career. The Cincinnati native was a second-team selection as both a junior (149) and senior (141). He was also a GLVC Wrestler of the Week on two occasions. Branson placed third at the NCAA Super Regional as a junior in earning a 149 berth to the NCAA Championships.

Branson is the program's all-time leader in career wins (84) and career falls (42), and he's second in career winning percentage (.771). He holds three of the program's top-7 single-season win totals, with 33 as a junior, 26 as a senior and 25 as a sophomore. His 17 falls as a junior and 16 as a senior rank 1-2 in program history, and he finished fifth nationally in falls his final year. Branson is the single season and career wins and falls leader at both 141 and 149. He's an Academic All-GLVC selection.

Andy Dobben (2016-20)
Dobben is tied for fourth in program history in career wins (42) and is tied for third in career falls (16). Always willing to shift weight classes depending on team needs, the native of Barberton, Ohio, ranks in the top 4 in program history in career wins at 157, 165, 174 and 184, including second at 174 and tied for second at 184.

Dobben and Branson were founding members of the Knights after the program absorbed St. Catharine College's program after the school closed. Dobben recorded a critical fall in Bellarmine's first-ever duals win, a 30-24 victory over Marian that came in the regular-season finale of its inaugural season. Dobben and Branson were members of St. Catharine when the team was honored with the National Team Champion of Character award, and they followed at Bellarmine when the Knights received two GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Awards.

Brandon Lucas (2018-present)
Lucas was an honorable-mention All-GLVC selection as a freshman at 125. That same season, the product of Mount Orab, Ohio, earned a berth in the DII NCAA Championships after placing second in the NCAA Super Regional.

Lucas is tied for fourth in program history with 42 career wins, and he's tied for third in career falls with 16. Lucas is the program's all-time leader at 125 in career and single-season wins and falls. He was an NWCA Scholar All-American as a freshman.

Andrew Sams (2017-19)
Sams competed for Bellarmine his freshman and sophomore seasons. The native of Fairfield, Ohio, was a first-team All-GLVC selection in the latter (174) and a second-team choice in the former (165). Sams received four GLVC Wrestler of the Week acknowledgements.

Sams is third on the program's all-time wins list (65). He ranks first in single-season wins (39 as a sophomore) and first in career win percentage (.813). Sams is the 174 leader in career and season wins and falls. He was an NWCA Scholar All-American as a freshman and two-time Academic All-GLVC.
