Five Knights earn Academic All-SoCon, program-record 38 named to SoCon honor roll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Five Bellarmine University wrestlers earned Academic All-Southern Conference recognition for the 2025-26 season, while a program-record 38 Knights were named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll. 

Redshirt senior Zac Cowan (business administration), redshirt junior Trayce Eckman (business administration), redshirt sophomore Andrew Liber (marketing), graduate student Daulton Mayer (higher education) and junior Jeb Prechtel (finance) earned Academic All-SoCon honors. 

Cowan, Liber and Prechtel were recognized for the second consecutive season after each earned Academic All-SoCon accolades in 2024-25. 

To be eligible for Academic All-SoCon recognition, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, participate in at least 50 percent of their team contests, and complete a minimum of three semesters at their institution. 

In addition, 38 members of the Bellarmine wrestling program were selected to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll, surpassing the previous program record of 27 honorees established last year. 

Earning Honor Roll recognition for the Knights were: Aiden Butler, Jackson Carroll, Zac Cowan, Connor Cumbee, Bowden Delaney, Christian Delos Santos, Trayce Eckman, Chase Hall, Noah Hall, Royce Hall, Nate Higley, Joseph Hubbard, Thadd Huff, Isaac Johns, Shay Korhorn, Lucas LeClerc, Andrew Liber, Travis Long, Daulton Mayer, Reagan McCullough, Joshua Medina, Cael Miller, Robert Nelson, Grant O'Dell, Jake Piontkowski, Nick Piontkowski, Jeb Prechtel, AJ Rallo, Gavin Ricketts, Jack Ring, Zane Schreck, Sam Schroeder, Ezra Vester, Cameron Vinson, Cole Walton, Jewell Williams, Kyle Wojcicki and Keenan Wyatt

The SoCon Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who record a minimum 3.0 GPA while appearing on their program's final squad list during the traditional season. 

In total, the SoCon named 394 student-athletes to the Spring Academic All-SoCon Team while recognizing 2,698 student-athletes on its 2025-26 academic honor roll.
