LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University swimming teams hosted Xavier and celebrated Senior Day on Saturday at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center.
Xavier swept the meet, winning 164-94 on the women's side and 157-92 on the men's.
Bellarmine's women placed first in three events. Sophomore
Anna Holt won the 1000 freestyle (11:30.62), freshman
Morgan Bender the 100 breaststroke (1:06.42) and junior
Rachel Walker the 100 butterfly (58.36).
Walker was the runner-up in the 200 freestyle, as was senior
Sophia Noren in the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke, Bender in the 100 freestyle, freshman
Ashley Owen in the 1000 freestyle and freshman
Elizabeth Stevenson in the 50 freestyle.
For the men, senior
Ty Grubb placed first in the 100 breaststroke (58.08) and 200 breaststroke (2:11.46). Freshman
Keegan Henderson took top honors in the 200 butterfly (1:56.11), as did sophomore
Jacob Dray in the 100 butterfly (50.78).
Freshman
Greyson Williams was the runner-up in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, as was sophomore
Sam Russell in the 1000 freestyle and Henderson in the 200 individual medley.
Seniors Noren, Grubb,
Haley Todd,
Jeffrey Owen and
Wilkin Savery were honored at the event.
The Knights compete Saturday at Evansville.
