PEORIA, Ill. — The Bellarmine University women's cross country team ably handled the transition from a 5k to a 6k distance Friday at the Bradley Pink Classic at Newman Golf Course.
Two Knights landed placements on the program's all-time top 50 in the 6k and three broke into the 6k Performance List, which ranks runners by career PR.
Junior
Emma Wells crossed the finish line in the "Red Race" in 21:59.9, the 27th-best 6k time in program history and seventh best on the Performance List. Wells placed a team-best 51st overall.
Sophomore
Justice Pohlman-Singleton posted a 22:16.1. That time ranks as the 38th-best in program history and 13th on the Performance List. She placed 69th in the race.
Junior
Anna Wells finished in 22:41.2, which places her 18th on the Performance List. Sophomore
Chloe Powell (22:51.0) and junior
Ellie Schroeder (22:59.9) rounded out the Knights' top 5.
Bellarmine finished 21st out of 37 teams in the Red Race. The Knights also had a contingent competing in the "White Race," with freshman
Trisha Sexton pacing the team in 25:18.5.
Bellarmine will have a partial squad competing in the Oct. 23 Chick-fil-A Invite hosted by Asbury.
