VALDOSTA, Ga.--The Bellarmine University women's golf team concluded its first season as a Division I team at the ASUN Conference Championship contested at the Davis Love-designed Kinderlou Forest Golf Course in Valdosta, Georgia on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
Bellarmine finished eighth in the eight-team field with Kennesaw State taking the team championship by 30 shots over runner-up North Florida.
The individual championship was claimed by Kennesaw State's Tai Anudit, who finished with an 11-under score of 205 after three consecutive rounds in the 60s (68-68-69).
Freshman
Josephine Bonin paced the Bellarmine contingent, finishing 23rd in the 39-player field. Bonin's tournament was highlighted by her second round performance when she carded a 73, which ranks as the fifth-best single round score in program history and ranks as the best round played in conference championship conditions. She finished that round in dramatic fashion by holing out with a seven-iron on the 356-yard 18th hole for an eagle.Â
Olivia Pennybaker carded the Knights' only other sub-80 round when she closed the tourney with a 79. The complete Bellarmine box score:
