ATLANTA — Bellarmine University's
Emil B. Berglund earned a spot on the six-member ASUN All-Academic Team for men's tennis, the league announced Thursday.
All-Academic nominees must have a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale), completed four semesters of college coursework or 50 percent of progress towards degree, participated in 50 percent of the team's contests and have one year of residence at the institution (graduate transfers excluded).
Berglund carries a 3.93 GPA in computer science at Bellarmine. Last year, his first at the school, the native of Bekkestua, Norway, was recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-GLVC honoree.
Berglund tied for the team lead this season with 17 overall wins, with 10 coming in doubles action and seven coming in singles play. He played mostly at No. 2 singles and No. 3 doubles.
