LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Bellarmine University Softball Coach Renee Hicks has announced that Mollie Paulick has joined her staff as a full-time assistant coach.

Paulick is a recent graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned both a master's and a bachelor's degree and was a pitcher on the softball team.

"I'm ecstatic to welcome Mollie to the Bellarmine family," Hicks said. "She was not only a tough competitor as a player, but she was also a great student of the game.  I'm sure she will help us grow our program and compete for conference titles."

At EKU, Paulick excelled in the pitching circle and in the classroom.  She posted a career earned run average of 2.46 and amassed a 66-28 record while hurling 606 innings and registering 604 strikeouts.  As a student, Paulick picked up both graduate and baccalaureate degrees as she took advantage of a fifth playing season and academic year due to COVID.  She earned a master's in sports administration and a bachelor's degree in exercise sports science with coaching and psychology minors.

Her collegiate accolades include being named EKU's Female Athlete of the Year in 2020 and earning multiple All-Ohio Valley Conference honors. Academically, she graduated with magna cum laude honors and was a dean's list recipient every semester.

"I'm excited to begin my coaching career at Bellarmine," said Paulick, who was teammates of former Knight Ciara Incorvati on a travel softball team in the Cincinnati area.  "Being from nearby and playing collegiately in the state, I know we have a solid recruiting base in this area, and I look forward to building a strong DI program at Bellarmine."

Paulick will assist with all phases of coaching the softball team along with taking on primary pitching coach responsibilities.
