LOUISVILLE, Ky.. — Despite a pair of losses to Evansville, Saturday was an emotional swim for the Knights as 11 seniors were honored at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center.

This was the second to last home meet for those seniors with the Knights competing one more time against Ball State on Jan. 28 at Mary T. Ultimately this afternoon, the women's team (3-4) fell by a final score of 142-118 while the men's (2-2) team lost 156-106.
Bellarmine's women were led by four firsts on Saturday, including multiple seniors. Walker won the 200 freestyle (1:56.88) and 100 butterfly (58.64), while Schrenger was victorious in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.42). Freshman Lexi Pierce hit the wall first in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.24). Witcher placed second in the 1000 freestyle (11:15.77) and Sorensen nabbed second in the 100 backstroke (1:01.35) adding more solid outings for the seniors. Junior
Anna Holt also earned second place in the 200 butterfly (2:13.06) and 500 freestyle (5:28.82). Other individual second place finishes came from Liz Stevenson in the 100 freestyle (56.04) and Pierce in the 200 IM (2:14.77).
The men were led by the Sims brothers once again, each picking up two victories.
Matthew Sims continued dominance of the 200 butterfly (1:52.75), beating second place by just under five seconds. He also took home first in the 100 butterfly (50.48). Twin and fellow senior
Daniel Sims placed first in the 200 breaststroke (2:07.44) and 200 IM (1:56.54). Second place finishes for the men included freshman
Brandon Thomas in the 1000 freestyle (9:54.22) and 200 IM (1:57.99), M. Sims in the 200 freestyle (1:44.50), junior Logan Jackson in the 50 freestyle (22.10), freshman JP Metzner in the 100 freestyle (47.97), and junior
Greyson Williams in the 200 backstroke (1:57.89).
Saturday was Bellarmine's first meet in over a month. The Knights are back in action at Xavier next Saturday, Jan. 22. The women's dual begins at 11:00 a.m., while the men's dual starts at 1:30 p.m.
