LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's basketball team will finish off a three-game road stretch when the Knights take on Central Arkansas at 8 p.m. (ET) Thursday in the Farris Center.
The contest will mark the second of the season between the ASUN West Division counterparts after Bellarmine (3-20, 0-12 ASUN) and Central Arkansas (8-15, 3-9) met Jan. 12 in Freedom Hall. The Sugar Bears captured a 55-41 win, holding the Knights to their lowest-scoring output in conference play.
Bellarmine led 23-18 at halftime, but Central Arkansas outscored the Knights 37-18 in the second half. Lucy Ibeh and Hannah Langhi both recorded double-doubles for UCA. Ibeh registered a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Langhi tallied 17 points and a game-best 13 rebounds.
Ibeh is the only player in the ASUN averaging a double-double. She's pulling down a league-high 10.4 rebounds per game and ranks fourth in scoring (13.7). Langhi is tossing in 11.0 points per contest for the Sugar Bears, whose plus-4.6 rebounding margin is third in the league. UCA is coming off a 66-48 loss at Jacksonville State and has dropped five straight.
Bellarmine fell 81-59 at North Alabama on Saturday. The Knights were only down 40-35 at halftime, but the Lions sank six 3-pointers in the third quarter alone and controlled the second half.
Mackenzie Keelin has averaged 13.8 points and 9.8 rebounds over the last four games while recording two double-doubles. The sophomore guard registered a game-high 19 points behind 7-for-9 shooting and added eight rebounds against North Alabama.
Senior guard
Kathleen Scott's 10 points against the Lions were her most in ASUN play, and in addition, her three steals marked the fourth time in six games she's collected at least two thefts. Junior guard
Jaela Johnson has averaged 16.3 points over the last four contests, including a 26-point outing two games ago against North Florida.
Sophomore forward
Lucy Robertson has corralled six or more rebounds in four of the last six games. Senior guard
Presley Brown's seven rebounds against UNA marked the fifth time this season she's amassed at least seven boards.
