LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Bellarmine University track and field teams competed Friday and Saturday in the Kentucky Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky.
On the women's side, sophomore
Justice Pohlman-Singleton won the 3000 steeplechase after finishing in 12:09.11. Sophomore
Kendal Gibbons placed third in the 400 hurdles, while sophomore
Chloe Powell (ninth) and freshman
Chloe Freilinger (13th) finished in the top half of the 1500 and 400, respectively.
Senior
Jared Muncaster was the runner-up in the men's javelin and took eighth in the discus. Freshman
Trevor Holbrook placed fourth in the 400, as did sophomore
Jordan Pohl in the long jump.
Senior
Will Esenbock captured fifth in the shot put, while freshman
Hunter Griffin (seventh), freshman
Matthew Wantland (11th) and junior
Nate Smith (12th) all placed in the upper half of the 3000.
Sophomore
John Cason, who placed 18th in the 800, and freshman
Jackson Gawarecki and senior
Chandler Gibson, who placed 25th and 29th, respectively, in the 1500, also finished in the top half of those events.
The Knights will compete Friday and Saturday in the University of Louisville's Clark Wood Open.
