ATLANTA — For the second consecutive year, Bellarmine softball senior outfielder Grace Werner was among 11 players recognized on the ASUN's All-Academic Team that was announced Monday by the league office.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom and exemplify the ASUN's mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.

Werner recently completed her degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, in which she carried a perfect 4.0 GPA each semester of this past year and all four years on campus.  On the softball field, Werner led the Knights with a .302 batting average.  She also stole 20 bases, coming just two shy of her single-season record of 22 set in 2019.  Werner also stole four bases in a single game against Tennessee State on March 16th, setting the program's single-game record.
