LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Multiple student-athletes, including two from Bellarmine University, participated in the ASUN Conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee summer meeting hosted by the University of North Alabama.

SAAC Vice President Kennedy DeDario and Secretary Amber Hofenk Jerembo, who are both field hockey players, represented Bellarmine at the meeting.

During the three-day meeting, the group heard a mental health awareness presentation from Dr. Carlene Holder Taylor, who is the clinical assistant professor and director of OspreyPERCH at the University of North Florida. It also had the opportunity to discuss name, image and likeness with athlete, social media influencer and brand ambassador Anthony Hamilton, Jr.

"The ASUN SAAC summer meeting has given us the chance to hear and learn from other institutions about what makes their groups so successful," Hofenk Jerembo said. "I'm super grateful for the opportunity to have attended this meeting, and I can't wait to apply what we learned to our BU SAAC and share it with other student-athletes."

The student-athletes were updated on the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and discussed SAAC programming on ASUN campuses. The agenda also included a conversation with ASUN Deputy Commissioner Jerome Rodgers and updates on the NCAA legislative items and issues related to student-athlete experience and student-athlete wellness.

"The ASUN SAAC summer meeting provided an amazing opportunity to learn from other institutions," DeDario said. "I am excited to implement what I learned in the discussions at Bellarmine and have a fantastic year with our BU SAAC!"
