HUNTINGTON, W.V.—The Bellarmine men's linksters opened the 2022-23 season at the Joe Feaganes Invitational hosted by Marshall University at the Guyan Golf and Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, finishing 13
th in the field of 15 Division I programs.

Luke Bischoff made an outstanding collegiate debut as the Louisville native was the Knights' leading player in the tourney. He birdied the first hole he played as collegian and went on to post a one-over-par round of 72 in yesterday's morning wave. He followed that up in the afternoon by turning in his first collegiate under-par round and sub-70 score by firing a 69, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole. Closing with a 74 on Tuesday, Bischoff was the low golfer for the Knights with a 215 total, good for a T-17 finish in the field of 95 players.
In the team competition, Appalachian State opened with a red-hot round of 270 (-14) then held off the host Thundering Herd by four shots, finishing with an 845 (-7) total. The Knights posted rounds of 297, 290, and 296 and were just one shot behind Central Michigan in 12th place.
Tyler Jones of Marshall claimed medalist honors by firing rounds of 66-70-69 for an 8-under total of 205.
For Bellarmine, senior
Jensen Klondike sandwiched a 72 between rounds of 75 to finish second on the team. Another shot back was sophomore
Kannon Tucker who opened with a 73 and posted back-to-back 75s to close.
Ballard Harris saw his scores steadily come down after opening with a 77, and
Frankie Morgan shook off his first round 83 with scores of 74 and 73 to close out the Bellarmine team scoring. Senior
Brooks Korfhage also competed, finishing with a 54-hole aggregate score of 228 as an individual.
The Knights return to action on Monday in the Grover Page Classic hosted by Tennessee-Martin at the Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tennessee. The event is scheduled for 54 holes (36-18).
