Men's golf prepped for ASUN Conference Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University men's golf team is set to begin postseason play tomorrow, heading to Valdosta, GA for the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.

About the Knights: Davenport and Wulkopf are the lone two Knights to have competed in all 27 rounds and nine events. Davenport leads the team with a 74.4 scoring average on the season and has turned in nine rounds at or below par, highlighted by a team best tying 66 (Grover Page Classic, R3). Jude Bender turned in the team's best individual finish at The Scrappy at Cobblestone with a three-over T4. In BU's last event, Albarado was the Knights' top finisher at +14.

Last Time Out: The Knights capped off the regular season in the Carpenter-Chaney Classic, taking on Morehead State and UT Martin in match play. Ultimately, Bellarmine just played Morehead, dropping both matches 4.5-1.5 and 6-2. Wulkopf earned points in both matches, getting a half point in the first before winning 5&4 in the second. Davenport notched a full point with a 1UP win in the first match while Stillwell scored the final full point with a 6&5 win in match two.

Last Time at Event: Bellarmine finished 11th in last year's conference championship, also played at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. Albarado and Wulkopf are the only Knights in this year's lineup who also competed last season with Wulkopf placing T48th at seven-over and Albarado placing T50th at eight-over.
