PARIS, Ky. – The Bellarmine University men's golf team closed out its 2025-26 regular season schedule on Saturday, competing against Morehead State and UT Martin in the Carpenter-Chaney Classic.

The event took place at the Houston Oaks Golf Club, a par 72, 6,842-yard course, designed by Bellarmine golf alum and athletics Hall of Fame member Jack Ridge.

In the opening round, the Knights took on Morehead State, falling 4.5 to 1.5. Sophomore Ben Davenport earned a full point for Bellarmine, securing a one-up victory over Remy Stalcup in match three. Davenport took an early lead with a birdie on two before Stalcup evened the match on the fourth hole. The Bowling Green, KY native was unshaken though, getting the lead back with another birdie on five before a third birdie on six gave him a two-hole lead. The match was brought back to even two more times before Davenport delivered the final blow with a par on the 15th hole to go back up one before riding out the win.

Redshirt sophomore Ben Wulkopf earned a half point for the Knights in the first match, finishing in a tie with Logan Liles. Wulkopf took a one-up lead on the opening hole with a birdie before going two-up after a par on two. Liles worked the match back even on the seventh, but Wulkopf retook the lead on nine with a par. The Louisville, KY native held a one-up lead twice more in the final five holes before finishing in a tie.

Bellarmine took on a second Morehead team in the second round, falling 6-2 to the Eagles. Wulkopf this time secured a full point for the Knights, defeating Clifton Scully 5&4 in the opening match. Wulkopf once again took the lead with a birdie at the first and never looked back. He went on run a few holes later, extending his lead to five-up with pars on hole four, six and eight and a birdie on five. From there, his lead was never lower than four-up before the match was finished on 14 with a five-hole lead.

Freshman Landon Stillwell notched the other full point for Bellarmine, defeating Evan Taylor 6&5 in match four. Stillwell also took a lead at the first. He extended his lead quickly with pars on three, five and seven to go up four. After a bogey on nine, the Louisville native answered with a birdie on 11 and back-to-back pars on 12 and 13 to vault ahead six-up and close out the match on the 13th hole.

Morehead State ultimately won the event after defeating UT Martin 4.5-4 in the first round and 6-2 in the second.
