CLEVELAND – For the first time this season, and second time in her career, Amber Hofenk Jerembo was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week.  With five goals this season Hofenk Jerembo leads the team.  Two of those came in Bellarmine's first victory of the season over Central Michigan on Friday.

MAC Players of the Week

Offensive: Amber Hofenk Jerembo, Bellarmine, Forward, Senior

Hofenk Jerembo scored two of Bellarmine's three goals in their win against Central Michigan on Friday - Bellarmine's first win of the season. With the two goals, Hofenk Jerembo leads the Knights with five goals already this season. She added five shots in Bellarmine's loss at Michigan State.  Hofenk Jerembo is tied for first in the MAC in goals so far this season. 

Defensive: Jenna Kirby, Miami, Back, Junior

Kirby played a crucial role in helping the RedHawks go undefeated on the week as Miami limited its two opponents to a total of 10 shots, of which only 5 made it on goal. The RedHawks shut out conference opponent Ohio, allowing the Bobcats six total shots and 0 goals. In addition, Kirby and the rest of the Miami backfield surrendered only three corners to their MAC rival. The next day, the RedHawks limited 2021 NCAA participant Fairfield to four total shots in the game, with Kirby and the rest of the 'Hawks giving up only four corners, and none in the first half en route to the victory.
