EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The Bellarmine women's golf team closed its fall season on a positive note, shooting a final round 310 to finish in fourth place at the 12-team Charles Braun, Jr. Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Evansville at Oak Meadow Country Club.
Bellarmine's 310 was the second-best score of the day and was a nine-shot improvement over an opening 319 on Monday.
Alaina Schmitt paced the Knights with a pair of 77s to finish in solo 10th place at plus-10.
Josephine Bonin was just one shot back after rounds of 79 and 76, which tied for 11th overall.
Bellarmine also got solid performances from
Jessica Stephens and
Presli Webb, who tied for 21st with an aggregate score of 160. Both players saved their best for last, shooting in the 70s in the final round.
The race for the team championship was exciting with Indiana State defeating Northern Iowa for the team championship on the first playoff hole. Teresa Diez Dorta claimed the medalist trophy with rounds of 77 and 72 to win by one shot.
