LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Coach
Paul Babba announced the full 2023 schedule for the Bellarmine University women's soccer team.
Bellarmine is set for a 18-game regular-season slate, including 10 home contests and 11 ASUN showdowns. In addition, the Knights will compete in two preseason exhibitions.
Those warm-ups will both take place on the road. The Knights will play exhibitions at Indiana (3-7-7 in 2022) on Aug. 9 and Indiana State (2-11-3) on Aug. 13.
Bellarmine will open the season with three games at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium. The Knights will debut against Northern Kentucky (2-11-2) on Aug. 20 before welcoming IUPUI (9-4-6) on Aug. 24 and Indianapolis (5-7-5) on Aug. 27.
Bellarmine's first official road contest will unfold Aug. 31 at Evansville (2-9-5). The Knights will return home against Chicago State (3-14-1) on Sept. 3 before embarking on their longest road stretch of the season, a three-game cluster at Morehead State (7-7-4) on Sept. 7, at Xavier (14-4-5, NCAA Tournament berth) on Sept. 10 and at Austin Peay (3-9-6, 1-6-3 ASUN) on Sept. 14, the latter of which represents their ASUN opener.
The Austin Peay contest triggers a span of 11 straight conference games to close out the regular season. After the Governors matchup, Bellarmine will welcome Lipscomb (11-5-3, 8-1-1) on Sept. 17 in its ASUN home opener before league outings Sept. 21 at Kennesaw State (7-9-3, 5-3-2) and Sept. 24 at Queens (3-8-5, 3-5-2), which concludes a stretch of five road games in six contests.
Flipping the script, Bellarmine will then wrap up the year with five of seven games at home. The Knights will host Jacksonville (6-5-5, 3-4-3) on Sept. 28 and North Florida (4-7-5, 3-3-4) on Oct. 1 in ASUN showdowns before their final league outings on the road — matchups Oct. 5 at Central Arkansas (6-9-4, 4-4-2) and Oct. 8 at North Alabama (5-8-5, 2-6-2).
Bellarmine will follow with a regular season-ending three-game homestand. The Knights will face reigning ASUN Tournament champion FGCU (12-5-1, 8-1-1) on Oct. 12, Stetson (6-11-1, 3-6-1) on Oct. 15 and Eastern Kentucky (9-7-2, 4-4-2) on Oct. 21, all at Frazier Stadium.
