HUNTINGTON, W.V.--Bellarmine sophomore
Luke Bischoff fired a final round 67 to grab a tie for 10th at the Joe Feaganes Invitational hosted by Marshall University on Monday and Tuesday at Guyan Golf and Country Club. The Bellarmine team finished fifth in the 12-team field after rounds of 278, 285 and 285.
The Knights' opening round score of 278 (-6) represented a program best for a par-71 golf course. The opening score was spearheaded by
Kash Albarado's collegiate low round of 66 with
Patrick Brooks and
Frankie Morgan also breaking par with 70s.
Belmont took home both the team and medalist trophies as the Bruins posted a 54-hole total of 824 behind Jack Schoenberger's winning individual score of 13-under-par (68-64-68=200).
For Bellarmine, Bischoff saw his scores improve with each round, opening with a one-over 72 before consecutive under-par rounds of 70 and 67. Brooks turned in all three scores that were at or below par with rounds of 70, 71 and 71 as he and Albarado were in the group that tied for 20th in the 76-player field.
The Knights will return to action on Sept. 25 when they tee it up at the Dolenc Invitational hosted by SIU-Edwardsville at Gateway National Golf Links.
