GREENVILLE, N.C. – Bellarmine men's golf returned to action over this past weekend, taking on a field of 15 schools and 85 players at the ECU Intercollegiate.
Playing at Brook Valley Country Club, the Knights turned in a 15
th place finish in the event.
Sophomore
Ben Davenport was the leading man for Bellarmine, turning in three straight rounds in the 70s, highlighted by a one-under par 71 in round two, for a 27
th place finish in the individual standings. His second round 71 was his fourth round of par or better golf this season and marked a team low for the event.
Freshman
Landon Stillwell was the second highest finishing Knight in 66
th place. The Louisville, KY native joined Davenport as the only two Bellarmine golfers with three straight rounds in the 70s.
Overall, UNC Wilmington won the team event at four-over par on the weekend. The host Eastern Carolina Pirates placed second at +14.
Individually, UNCW's Gray Mitchum took home top billing as the only player under par, putting up a three-under tournament two rounds under par.
