LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University swimming competed Saturday in a dual meet at Xavier and captured several top placements.
Junior
Alexandra Pierce secured a pair of golds, claiming first in the women's 400 IM (4:36.84) and the 200 breaststroke (2:24.26).
Bellarmine swept the 400 IM golds, as junior
Brandon Thomas won the men's iteration in 4:10.58. Thomas was the runner-up in the 200 breaststroke.
Junior
John Paul Metzner touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle (21.32), as did freshman
Evan Dickson in the 200 freestyle (1:45.25), with sophomore
Cason Henderson taking runner-up honors in the latter.
Henderson placed first in the 200 butterfly (1:56.28), and freshman
Colin Jackson claimed gold in the 200 backstroke (1:55.74). Jackson, Metzner, senior
Kenton Whiteley and senior
Andrew Nguyen took second in the 400 medley relay.
Sophomore
Sam Jones was the runner-up in the 1000 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. Jackson, Dickson, freshman
Evan Jones and senior
Keegan Henderson placed second in the 200 freestyle relay.
Xavier won 117-87 on the men's side and 156-46 in women's action.
Bellarmine will host Ball State on Feb. 3 at the Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center.
