SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Bellarmine men's golf team finished tied for sixth among 18 teams at the World Golf Village Collegiate. Senior
Hudson Hummel was the top finisher for the Knights, shooting a pair of 72s on Monday and a 70 on Tuesday to finish at -2 for the event.
"This was a great performance by our team," said Knights head coach
Bruce Brown. "I was especially proud and excited for Hudson."
Players battled through brutal conditions as cool temperatures and saturated fairways prevailed throughout the event, which was hosted by Eastern Kentucky.
Stetson took the event at -16, finishing three shots ahead of Jacksonville State. It was Jacksonville State's Erik Jansson, however, who topped the individual leaderboard at -16.
Two-time NBA champion J.R. Smith of North Carolina A&T participated as an individual and finished at +23, tied for 102nd.

The Knights now have over two weeks until their next competition, the Sea Palms Collegiate from March 7-9. The three-day event will be hosted by Western Carolina at the Sea Palms Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga.
