LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's basketball team is preparing for its final Atlantic Sun Conference regular-season road game as the Knights will square off with Eastern Kentucky at 4 p.m. (ET) Saturday at Baptist Health Arena.

Bellarmine (8-17, 3-10 ASUN), which concludes the regular season with two contests in Freedom Hall, is striving to earn a berth in the 10-team ASUN Tournament. With three games left, the Knights are the frontrunner for the remaining bid, as they are in 10th place and hold a one-game lead over North Florida (2-11) along with the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Ospreys after beating them 69-63 on Jan. 25. Queens (1-13) only has two conference games left and can't catch BU because the Knights own that tiebreaker as well after an 85-76 win over the Royals on Feb. 10.

Bellarmine and Eastern Kentucky (20-8, 8-5) are meeting for the second time this season. The Colonels captured a 79-66 victory Jan. 13 in Freedom Hall. EKU burst out of the gate for a 21-8 lead and took a 41-24 advantage into halftime. BU cut a 24-point deficit in the third quarter to seven with just under two minutes left in the fourth before EKU turned the Knights back.

In the first meeting, senior guard Ashlee Harris registered a career-high 18 points for Bellarmine, while junior guard Hope Sivori tallied 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists and junior guard Hayley Harrison added 12 points. Antwainette Walker, the ASUN Preseason Player of the Year, led EKU with 21 points and Alice Recanati notched 19.

Eastern Kentucky had two distinctly different results last week on the road. The Colonels waylaid North Alabama 84-57 but fell 83-49 to Central Arkansas. Like Bellarmine, EKU didn't have a weekday game in ASUN play. The Colonels played Tuesday at Chicago State in a nonconference affair and prevailed 85-63.

Walker ranks second in the ASUN in scoring (18.1) and Recanati is tied for first in assists (4.5). Ivy Turner is tied for sixth in helpers (3.3) while averaging 10.7 points. Sierra McCullough is fourth in the conference in rebounding (7.4).

Last week, Bellarmine battled Central Arkansas to the end before falling 63-57, but the North Alabama contest got away from the Knights in the second half of an 88-66 loss.

Harrison ranks fifth in the ASUN in scoring (15.5) and has reached double figures in all but one conference game and all but four overall. She's the league leader in FTs made (109) while ranking second in FT attempts (134) and fifth in percentage (81.3) among qualifiers.

Sivori ranks second in the ASUN in overall steals (48), third in assists (4.3) and is tied for fifth in total 3-pointers made (51). She is also the team's second-leading scorer (10.6).

Sophomore guard Miyah Brown ranks 10th in the ASUN in rebounding (6.1). She's grabbed at least six boards in 18 games this season.
