OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – The Bellarmine women's golf team placed 11
th out of 16 teams in the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate at Hampton Cove this week, finishing at plus-98.
Alaina Schmitt tied for 22
nd individually at plus-14. She shot a team-best 74 (plus-2) in the second round on Tuesday.
"If I'm finding a silver lining, it would be that our ball striking did get better," said Bellarmine head coach
Art Henry of his team's play Wednesday in the final round. "But, we have a week's worth of short game practice coming up to get ready for our next tourney."
Lipscomb won the three-round event at plus-14, a full 28 strokes better than second-place Troy at plus-42. The Bisons boasted three of the top four finishers in the event: Lauren Thompson (1
st, minus-4), Ally Williams (2
nd, plus-2) and Zi Yu Foong (4
th, plus-5).

The Knights are back at it March 18 and 19 at the Nevel Meade Collegiate in Oldham County. The event is hosted by Cleveland State.
